THE SEARCH is on.
The Schools Division of Mandaluyong City through the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) is set to train teaching and non-teaching personnel, students and budding campus journalists to be effective writers and contributors of Talamitam, official publication of the Division.
Set to be held on March 26 and April 1-2 via YouTube Live, Dr. Romela M. Cruz, CESO VI, schools division superintendent, said that her office is committed to provide platforms to all employees and learners to showcase their writing skills.
“We want our personnel to be effective and responsible information sharers,” Dr. Cruz added. “We want them to build an understanding of the important roles of news play in our community.”
Exprimere, a three-day online training, will focus on the basic principles of writing such as accuracy, integrity and fairness.
Participants will also learn how to analyze information, how are these being attributed, quoted and paraphrased in news articles.
According to Mr. Anthony Augusto M. Garcia, public schools district supervisor and focal person for the Division News and Editorial Board, the capacity workshop is open not only to school paper advisers and campus journalists.
“We are encouraging our school heads, head teachers, master teachers, program and subject coordinators, non-teaching personnel and students to participate,” Garcia reiterated. “We want to hear good and inspiring stories from them and publish through Talamitam Online.”
