ERIS Grade 5 pupil bagged GOLD medal from Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge 2017

Sean Neyers Aranar Gungon, Grade 5 pupil of Eulogio Rodriguez Integrated School, was a Gold Medalist from the recently concluded Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC) at Canadian International School, Singapore last July 14-17, 2017. It gathered about 1,200 students from Grade 2 to 10 from 20 countries in Asia. The country’s participation in the contest was made possible by the Asian Math Sci League Inc., the Department of Education and the Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute.

Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC) is a unique concept of mathematics competition which not only tests your ability to solve mathematical problems on pen and paper but also tests your ability to work as a team to play interactive mathematical games and solve puzzles. SIMOC gives you an opportunity to compete with top mathematical talents from around the world and learn from each other as a team. Individual and team recognition awards are up for grabs.

Among the participants from the Philippines in Grade 5 level, only Sean Neyers got Gold Award in Individual Written Category.
