THE DEPARTMENT of Education (DepEd) has announced the early registration for all incoming Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11 learners in all public elementary and secondary schools for the School Year 2022-2023 starting March 25, 2022.
Based on the DepEd Memorandum No. 17, s. 2022, all incoming Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11 learners in all public elementary and secondary schools shall pre-register while the incoming Grades 2-6, 8-10, and 12 are no longer needed to participate in the early registration and considered pre-registered.
Dr. Romela M. Cruz, CESO VI, schools division superintendent, urged all school heads to come up with mechanisms to ensure that all learners will be enlisted and be part of the school system this coming school year.
“Early registration will help our leaders come up with necessary preparations and adjustments for the incoming school year 2022-2023,” Dr. Cruz added.
Areas under Alert Levels 1-2 may allow in-person registration through parents or guardians following strict observance of physical distancing and health and safety protocols. Meanwhile, early registration shall be done remotely in areas under Alert levels 3-5 because of the prevailing COVID-19 public health emergency.
The private schools are encouraged to follow the same timeframe for the early registration.
The department is yet to finalize and announce the exact date of the start of School Year 2022-2023.
