TO IMPROVE efficiency in the delivery of social services, strengthen financial inclusion, and promote ease in doing transactions, President Rodrigo R. Duterte has institutionalized the acceptability of the Philippine National Identification System as an official proof of identity and age in all public and private transactions.

As stated in Executive Order No. 162, President Duterte ordered the acceptance of PhilSys records as the government’s central identification platform for all citizens and resident aliens of the country in accordance with the policy under Republic Act No. 11055 or the Philippine Identification System Act.

Thus, an individual record in the PhilID issued by the PhilSys shall be honored and accepted hence, it would serve as the official government-issued identification document and sufficient proof of identity among cardholders, simplifying transactions not only to all government agencies but likewise with private offices, thus, promoting seamless social service delivery.

A quick survey revealed that 23.27 percent of the Addition Hills Integrated School (AHIS) populace or 510 out of 2,192 elementary and junior high school students were already registered, while 69.39 percent or 34 teachers were able to apply for the National ID.
