THE SCHOOLS Division of Mandaluyong City, in its commitment to continuously improve the teaching strategies, conducted the First Division Learning Action Cell (DLAC) for MAPEH on April 1 via Google Meet.

According to Dr. Romela M. Cruz, schools division superintendent, the first DLAC focused on the instructional coaching techniques for head teachers, master teachers, and coordinators.

“SDO-Mandaluyong is committed to the continuous improvement of our teachers’ teaching strategies to keep up with the new normal,” Dr. Cruz said. “Instructional leaders must be capacitated.”

Meanwhile, in her talk, Ms. Roxane S. Villanueva, education program supervisor in Science, underscored that the biggest task of instructional leaders is to listen to both what the teachers are saying as well as what they are not saying.

“Within our role in the Results-based Performance Management System (RPMS), as leaders, we should strive to be their coaches first before we endeavor to be their raters,” Ms. Villanueva added.

The DLAC for MAPEH, initiated by Mr. Leopoldo A. Miranda Jr, EPS, is a five-phase leadership program for HTs, MTs, and coordinators and part of his Technical Assistance for Performance and Advancement of Teachers (TAPAT) for Calendar Year 2022.
