Oplan RISE brings games, relief goods to 169 fire-hit AHIS students

Laughter and excitement filled the air as Hulo Integrated School (HIS) successfully conducted “Oplan RISE,” distributing relief goods and organizing recreational games for 169 fire-affected learners at Addition Hills Integrated School (AHIS) on February 1, 2026.
The initiative, led by the Hulo and Highway Hills Integrated School Special Program in Journalism (SPJ) and the Hulo Frontier editorial staff, aimed to provide immediate aid to victims of the January 19 fire in Block 36, Brgy. Addition Hills.
The highlight of the event was the distribution of essential relief packs. Each learner received hygiene kits, blankets, and towels to replace items lost in the blaze.
“We want to ensure their immediate sanitation and physical comfort,” said Ma. Elizabeth T. Mateo, SPJ Coordinator and project proponent.
Prior to the distribution, the atmosphere was lightened by a series of recreational games facilitated by Jiro Miranda, campus journalist. The “Hulo Frontier” staff led the children in parlor games, offering a break from the stress of displacement.
The event also included a feeding program and psychosocial support activities. The project was supervised by Principal Rosie Casono, Efren Consemino and Roderick Mendiola, PSDS Anthony Augusto Garcia and school paper advisers ensuring that every affected learner received their share of goods and support.
